On the way to Williston on Saturday we drove through Rugby, ND. Rugby is the geographical center of North America. Here are a few pics.
On Sunday morning we had the pleasure of presenting the ministry, ministering in music, and teaching and preaching the Word of God in Sunday School and the morning meeting at Calvary Baptist Church. We had a blessed time with Pastor Rob Jupp, his family, and the members and visitors.
In the afternoon we traveled to Minot, ND to a meeting with Dakota Baptist Church (Pastor David Jones). The Lord continues to load us with benefits as we presented, sang, and preached. This church received us kindly, while they themselves are struggling with the extensive damage they have suffered with a dam breaking just over three months ago which flooded homes and businesses. The church building was damaged, they are using it partially now, and many of the members are in hotels or Red Cross shelters (still) as their houses are not live-able. Please pray for them.
Hello dear ones. Thought you would need to know that Pastor David Jones at Dakota Baptist church in Minot, ND, died unexpectedly yesterday morning of what they think was a heart aneurysm. Please pray for their family and church family. Very sad situation. We so enjoyed having you with us here in Larimore and were disappointed we didn't get to see you before you left. Always know our door is open and we love you dearly. Pastor & Mrs. Shaffer
ReplyDeleteFrom Paul Burbidge: We have been praying for Mrs. Jones and Dakota Baptist Church. I was encouraged as just yesterday I heard of a church in the mid-west USA that is going to be helping Mrs. Jones and DBC out financially--praise God. We missed meeting Brother Jones this side of glory Sunday night when we were at DBC in Minot. All that read this blog please pray for these dear people. They are still displaced due to the flooding just over three months ago, and now the death of their pastor.
