As we begin our only major trip for 2014 deputation we also have the end of our deputation in sight. 2014 will be our final year of deputation. Please pray with us that the Lord would direct me to the exact date upon which we will officially stop deputation and get to the work of church planting in earnest and with the intensity we desire.
Our supporting churches may expect year-end letters soon.

Our first meetings this year were scheduled for Sunday, January 5th in Illinois. Well, the Lord had other plans. We arrived in central Illinois on Saturday before with a major winter storm threatening for Sunday. Early Sunday morning the snow started falling, and heavy. The temperatures on Sunday morning were not far below freezing and by mid-night were in the negative digits degrees F. Needless to say both Sunday appointments were cancelled. Thankfully we were staying in a prophet's chamber and were snug.

On Monday morning we woke up to -10 degrees F, a bitter wind chill and snow drifts obscuring the roads. We were hoping to be on the road to Fort Worth, TX by 8am, but the snow plow did not plow our road until 10:30am. When we got on the I-70 westbound it was 100% hard packed snow and ice. We drove the 128 miles to Mount Vernon, IL; a drive that would normally take 2 hours took us 7 and a half. We got a hotel and did the rest of the trip to Texas the next day without the delays of the day before. I was sorry to lose the two meetings but it was an adventure, for sure.
In that seven plus hours drive on Monday was saw an estimated 75, or more, vehicles off the road and even had a minivan spin out right in front of us.
God is so gracious to carry us through this adventure.

Please continue to pray for us that God's will be done. We desire to get God's work right, but considering who I am that will take much grace. God is able.
